Yonex EZONE 100 (2025) Racquet Review
Make way for the new Yonex EZONE 100! The eighth generation of this now-legendary frame keeps the same baseline specs to maintain its user-friendly nature, incorporating a forgiving, yet powerful, 100-square-inch hoop size, 300-gram (10.6-ounce) unstrung weight and a 16x19 string pattern. The beam shape has been widened ever so slightly at the tip of the frame, making it more forgiving on off-center hits and slightly more powerful. Internally, Yonex adds a new material called Minolon, which uses silk to create a new dampening tech that simultaneously boosts comfort and responsiveness. Across the board, our TW testers were seriously impressed by this update to a beloved racquet, and they reveled in its increased power, comfort and playability. The uptick in maneuverability proved a welcome addition, and our testers described this version of the EZONE 100 as perhaps one of the closest to the beloved DR editions of old. There was nothing that they could agree on in terms of strong dislikes, making this frame a truly user-friendly experience on the whole. Fans of power racquets should seriously consider demoing this impressive new version of the EZONE 100.

Breakdown
Groundstrokes: 9.0
During baseline exchanges, our team of testers found a lot to enjoy from this EZONE 100. The easy power remained a constant threat, but the improved comfort, maneuverability and precision made this a well-rounded racquet. Jason, a one-time EZONE 100 user, found success with this latest version. He explained, "I absolutely loved this racquet from the baseline. It probably helps that I am a former EZONE 100 user, and this racquet has a feel that's similar to the DR model. It has a plush response, where it's comfortable, but not so mushy that I feel disconnected from my shots. I thought it offered a great combination of power, control and spin in a very maneuverable package. It's just a really easy racquet to not only pick up and use, but also to win points with."
"The EZONE 100 just does everything well while complementing my aggressive game style."
Like Jason, Brittany is also no stranger to this frame or franchise, and she thoroughly enjoyed her experience with this updated version. She said, "Having played with different generations of the EZONE 100 for the last 12 years, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect from this update, and I was not disappointed. I had no adjustment period and was able to very quickly transition into point play. I had controllable power from the baseline, so I could swing freely at my shots with confidence. It has enough mass and a (not too) high launch angle that allowed me to hit heavy, deep shots to push my opponent back off the baseline. I could maneuver the racquet around easily and generate plenty of spin. Even on defense, I was able to hit my slice efficiently to keep myself in the point. To give you a preview of the rest of my comments, I honestly have nothing bad to say about this EZONE 100.”
This EZONE 100 fit naturally with Alex's technique and playing style. He described, "I could feel exactly what you'd expect from an EZONE: comfort, precision and spin potential. I had the opportunity to generate powerful shots, both with my forehand and backhand, while also being able to defend more solidly, ensuring my opponent couldn't take control of points.”

For Luca, the power of the frame was not too unwieldy to reliably employ. He said, "The EZONE 100 2025 was amazing from the baseline, helping me generate great spin and power, whether I was hitting flat shots or adding some spin. The racquet added more punch to my shots, and the aerodynamic frame with Isometric technology really boosted my confidence in my swing.”
Volleys: 8.3
Up at the net, the EZONE 100 continued to be a seriously imposing racquet to play against. For Alex, the versatility and variety afforded to him made for a highly successful net experience. He said, "I had the chance to vary my volleys, alternating between approach volleys and more impactful ones. This versatility once again allowed me to conclude that the racquet delivers on its promises, offering both precision and comfort."
Luca also had a great time volleying with this racquet. He said, "Up at net, the EZONE 100 performed really well thanks to its quickness and the great feel during each movement. The combination of aerodynamics and flexibility made it easy to react quickly and play touch shots with confidence."

Despite some instability, Jason found lots to like about the EZONE 100 at the net. He described, "This racquet was responsive and didn't lag when hitting reflex volleys. I thought it had nice feel to it, so I was able to hit touch volleys with no problems, and there was enough power for me to easily put a sitter ball or overhead away. It may lack a bit of torsional stability, but for a racquet as whippy as this one, that's to be expected."
The EZONE 100's versatile nature encouraged Brittany to go with any type of volley she wanted. She explained, "Up at net, the plush and responsive feel allowed me to hit a variety of volleys and mix up my shots. I could punch the volley deep in the court or soften my hands and hit shorter, angled volleys to bring my opponent forward. This racquet was fun for doubles, and I felt myself poaching more than normal. I thought the feel was improved in this update (maybe a little softer than the last couple of generations)."
Serves: 8.9
Our testers found plenty of power and easy spin from the EZONE 100 on serves. For Jason, the serving experience was right in line with what he had hoped for from this new EZONE 100. He said, "I was able to get good power and good spin on my serves with this EZONE 100. It felt right on par with the previous generation in those aspects. I thought I was hitting my targets well, especially out wide."
Although perhaps not quite as impactful as her return of serve proved to be, Brittany's serves were also enhanced by this racquet. She said, "Spoiler alert — while I didn't love the EZONE 100 as much on serves as I did returns, I was still plenty successful. On my first serve, I found ample pop and maneuverability to hit a flat serve up the T, and I had the ability to rotate my wrist to hit some nice slice out wide on the deuce side. However, I was surprised by how well the racquet handled second serves. I actually had a boost in confidence on what is one of my weakest shots. I was consistently able to get my second serve to land deep in the service box with plenty of spin. I felt my opponent had a little bit more trouble attacking it, which allowed me to stay neutral in the point. The best part — I was able to maintain it throughout an entire session."

The spin capability of this EZONE 100 helped Alex lean into his spin-heavy service motion. He described, "As a player who uses a lot of spin on both first and second serves, the EZONE enabled me to vary my serves effectively, producing wide slices and kick serves that troubled my opponent's returns."
Luca also had lots of success serving with spin. He noted, "The racquet's weight and balance helped me hit a powerful, precise serve with plenty of spin. I really liked how the racquet stayed stable and controlled even when I was hitting harder shots."
Returns: 8.6
Returns proved to be a highlight of the 2025 EZONE 100 playtest for our team. For Alex, the returning experience was defined by how controllable and reliable he found the racquet. He explained, "This new EZONE 100 allowed me to counter serves with heavy spin, enabling me to handle my opponent's powerful first serves. Against second serves, I could immediately take control of the point with deeper, more aggressive shots."

The EZONE 100's versatility was a major boon for Luca's returns. He said, "This racquet's speed and the forgiving head design made it easy to respond quickly, mixing power and accuracy to stay aggressive, even when I was on defense."
For Jason, the ability to return offensively or defensively meant that he always felt like he was primed for success. He described, "With the spin I was able to generate, I could take big rips at the ball and they'd drop in thanks to the topspin RPMs. When I could only block a shot back, I was able to get enough depth that my return would be more of a neutral ball for my opponents, so I wouldn't immediately be scrambling."
"Whether I was trying to be aggressive or had to be defensive, the Yonex EZONE 100 was able to provide what I needed."
Brittany loved returning with this racquet, making one of her best shots even more deadly. She said, "The standout shot for me with the EZONE 100 was the return of serve. It made one of my best shots even better (didn't think that was possible). The solid feel and maneuverability blended perfectly no matter what serve was hit at me. On first serve returns, I could stand on the baseline, block the serve back and be precise with my targets. On second serve returns, I could step in, be aggressive, and take a full swing to start points off offensively."

Playtester Thoughts

Jason
It's not a big departure from the previous model, but I think this 2025 EZONE 100 has a bit more pop to it. Feel-wise, we're in the vicinity of the DR model.
Just about everything. From the plush feel to the winning combination of power, spin and control.
Nothing glaring stands out. If you want a bit more torsional stability, you can simply add a bit of tungsten in the hoop.

Brittany
Fans of previous generations will have no issues switching to this eighth generation. The racquet plays very similarly, with just some small differences. I would say there is a little extra power and stability, as well as a plusher feel (think closer the DR model). Other racquets that play similarly include the Wilson Blade 100 v9, Yonex VCORE 100 and Babolat Pure Drive 98.
Can I say everything? I like the controllable power, the feel, the spin potential, the combination of stability and maneuverability, and the cosmetics!
Nothing!

Alex
I will compare this Yonex EZONE 100 to the Babolat Pure Drive 2025. They have the same power, but the EZONE 100 is a bit better in terms of control and feel.
The EZONE 100 is my favorite 2025 racquet so far; the perfect combination of power and control. It is a perfect option for me; I get good feel and have the opportunity to finish points faster.
The EZONE 100 is a powerful racquet, so I’m not always completely sure of every shot. I missed a few approach shots.

Luca
The EZONE 100 2025 offers improved comfort, power and spin compared to the previous version. It's more forgiving and provides extra punch and stability. The 2025 version also delivers better precision and quicker response on serves and returns. While the previous version was great, the 2025 is a more versatile and user-friendly upgrade, offering enhanced performance without sacrificing playability.
I love the overall comfort, how easy it is to generate spin and power and the aerodynamic design that gives me better precision and confidence. Plus, the more forgiving head (compared to the 98 model) makes it a lot more versatile.
There aren't any major negatives.
