Overview

Introducing the Pro Staff Six.One 100 v14! With this racquet Wilson adds another chapter to the Six.One legend. Like the previous generation, this racquet will appeal to intermediate and advanced players who crave controllable power and great feel. In addition to an open 16x19 string pattern, this racquet not only comes around fast but it also has enough mass to redirect higher levels of pace. For 2023 Wilson brings back that classic Pro Staff feel with Paradigm Bending, a layup technology that optimizes the flex between hoop and shaft. This racquet also has FORTYFIVE technology, which strategically aligns the graphite fibers at a 45 degree angle to increase lateral bending through impact. With some nice updates to the feel, the Pro Staff Six.One continues to be a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want a versatile player's racquet with controllable power and great feel.

Best combination of 6.1 and Pro Staff seriesI was using a 10 year old Wilson Six.one 95 racquet (unstrung weight 309) and upgraded to the Pro staff Six one 100 (unstrung weight 305). My game is fast medium swing, single hand backhand. I prefer shorter points and have an aggressive style with a mix of flat/top spin hitting 1. Had tested Pro Staff X (315 gram unstrung weight) and liked the feel but was not sure of using a heavier racquet for long term to ensure no elbow issues. 2. Researched and found this piece. Guided patiently by the TW team and because I was using an old 6.1 95, decided to buy the Pro staff Six One 100 instead of Blade etc. Could not find a demo racquet and in a sense, bought this blind basis research and TW guidance. 3. Possibly because my earlier racquet was quite old, I found the new one to have a bit more power (which I wanted actually). 4. As per the TW reviews, the slice backhand and volleys really packed a punch. I am now far more confident of these two shots - including touch volleys. 5. Forehand/backhand - initially I found the racquet a bit stiff (I have strung with Babolat RPM Blast 54 pounds) and was not sure of hitting the ball through the line. at times, it used to float out. But after say, seven to eight days, maybe because the strings settled in (and possibly weakened to one to two points below 54 pounds), I am now loving this frame. I am more confident of hitting through the line and able to direct the placement well. 6. Baseline shots - if one hits with topspin, the outcome is great. on flat shots, one has to be a bit more careful as the extra power pushes the ball long. 7. Serves - similar to my earlier racquet but with the right technique, I guess this will fall in place and give me an improved performance. For lovers of the Pro Staff and Six One 95 franchise, this is a great combo with a 305 weight it gives stability and it's not too heavy. The Head light balance makes this very maneuverable.

Replaced Blade SW 102Depending on the day I'm anywhere from a 3.5 to a 4.5 level. People tell me I'm a hard hitter. I couldn't keep using the SW 102 because I just started hitting everything long. And I had no touch whatsoever with that racquet. The SW 102 has more of a cushy feel and it didn't need a dampener in the strings. I got this 6.1 on Black Friday so I've only used it a few times so far. My first impressions are 1) I actually really like the color (which changes depending on the lighting). It's more deep red than rusty orange like in the pictures. I loathed that they switched from black, but I ended up really liking the almost candy apple red color. 2) It feels way more rigid, like I'm hitting with a plank of wood, than the SW102 (strung at 57lbs with Babolat RPM). I got the 6.1 delivered with 54lbs and RPM, but it definitely needs a dampener in the strings that I didn't need with the Blade. I will probably go down to 50lbs next time I get it strung. 3) My touch has finally returned. I had no ability to hit a decent drop shot or slice with the blade 102, ever, but with this 6.1, I'm a complete menace to other players with the drop shots and slices. 4) The power is decent. I don't seem to have the same issue of sending everything long like I did with the Blade. 5) I don't seem to have nearly the same serve power, and I usually depend on free points from my serve, but maybe that is something I'm still getting the feel for with this and could be the result of getting a 4 & 1/2 grip instead of the 4 & 1/8 grip on the SW102 that I put two over grips on with some thin cardboard in cause I accidentally bought a tiny handle one. I may add a little weight at 10 and 2 after a few more rounds. I didn't demo any rackets before buying this. Just an impulse buy.
