This uniquely fast extended length racquet combines high comfort with easy power

Introducing the Blade 104 v9! Defined by its generous 104 in² head size, this is the most forgiving and powerful member of the Blade family. In addition to its extended 27.5" length (which provides easier power on groundies and serves), the Blade 104 packs enough spin potential to bring the ball down on target. As with the previous generation, this update is extremely maneuverable for an extended length racquet, making it great for scrambling on defense, hitting shots on the run or reacting quickly at net. Like its predecessor, this update incorporates Direct Connect Technology, fusing the butt cap directly to the carbon fiber handle for increased stability. It also retains Wilson's FortyFive layup technology, which enhances lateral flexibility to complement the explosive vertical mechanics of the modern game (think heavy ball). New for 2024 is StableFeel technology, which introduces a slightly firmer layup for greater stability and easier access to power. Experienced ball strikers will appreciate the new Clip & Go grommet system, which not only locks down the bumper but also makes for easier grommet replacement. Ultimately, with minor tweaks to the feel and response, this update continues to be a great option for players who want the precision and feel of a Blade but in a more forgiving and powerful package.

Second Wilson Blade 104.I tested the Blade V8 a few years back and purchased and played with it for 2.5 years. Then I noticed stress fractures along the inside of the frame. Since I enjoyed the 104 V8, I replaced it with the newest version and enjoy it just as much. As a senior doubles player, the head size is great, weight just right and the added length is a bonus too.

Love itLove it. Previously I’ve played with the Blade 98S. I love that they sent me three different demo racquets to try.

What a racquetI am now in my mid 50s. Played tennis since 10 years of age and progressed through to play at a reasonable competitive level in high school and University. Now I play the local league. I developed tennis elbow many years ago trying to emulate Nadal with his racquet and RPM blast. What a mistake. Settled on the Wilson Clash Tour for a number of years but wanting more. Bought the Blade 104 V9 as a leap of faith. Wow I am instantly in love. My strings are Tecnifibre X-one 17G at 42 pounds. This racquet is easy to swing, shots land deep in the court. Spin potential was great. Volleys easy. Over-head smashes impressed me and my opponents, these were way beyond what I am used to. Slices were low and penetrating. Serving took me a bit of time to get dialed in to... I guess the racquet is half an inch longer than what I have been playing with for over 40 years. But once I got used to it my kick serves were very difficult for my opponents to return. I have had no arm issues with this Blade so far. The ball feel is better than the Clash allowing for more accurate shots. Also I guess the 104 being much lighter than the Clash Tour was so much less tiring on my arm and shoulders after long three set matches. The racquet in conjunction with my setup feels plush and comfortable. If there is a downside to the 104, it is in returning heavy serves. The simple act of blocking the ball of a heavy serve is not enough to send it back deep enough over the net. This area, the Clash Tour is better. In singles it's probably not a problem. But in doubles, a less than adequate return of serve may cost you a point. Overall I am really happy with my switch over and I do think I am playing better tennis.

None Better; The SequelAdding to my review below, the stock low swingweight still felt like a bit of a hindrance at the net and on fast exchanges, so I've increased the weight on the hoop to about four grams on either side. Very pleased with the result, nice increase in plow and stability, getting rid of most of my other racquets.

Borrowed a friend's and bought the next weekPreviously had a Blade 104 v7, tired to replace with a cheaper arm-friendly racquet (Prince Phantom)... then a Babolat Pure Drive. Failed experiments!! Borrowed Blade 104 v8 from a buddy the first set loved it... until I borrowed New Blade 104 v9 from another buddy second set. WOW. I'm a serve and volley player and it felt so solid in comparison to v8 on volleys; serves had more action and groundstrokes were dropping deep setting my partner up at the net. I bought two the next week and improvements noticed during the demo have continued!! What have you got to loose!

None Better(Disclaimer: I immediately added six grams to the hoop and have only played the racquet in that condition). As such, I can't recall a racquet I've played better with. Ample power, but no control problems at all with this oversize. Even the demo racquet, which was strung with multi, had no control problems at all, consistent depth with plenty of spin. All the better with poly at 55 pounds. Serving has always been great with the 104 and this one lives up to the predecessors. Increasing the stiffness a bit from the prior versions has greatly improved this frame without compromising comfort.

Love the V9 104!I first started playing with the SW104 back in 2019 and it was one of my favorite racquets to play with. I thought the V8 104 was a bit on the lighter side, but the V9 is perfect! I bought two and I use this racquet 3-5 times a week.
