This explosive racquet is dangerous in the hands of aggressive baseliners

Introducing the Blackout 300! Designed with the help of seasoned industry technicians and professional players the Blackout 300 is fast explosive and powerful. It also delivers the kind of spin-friendly targeting that will help you hit sharp angled passing shots or pull the trigger at end of a long rally. With its quick handling and solid feel, the Blackout 300 shines at net where you'll find enough pop to finish points with a bang. Technologies include 40T Carbon Fiber at 3/9 o'clock, resulting in a larger sweetspot along with a more solid and responsive feel on off-center impact. Ball feedback is further enhanced by Solinco's Liquid Crystal Technology which is added to the layup in order to reduce hash vibrations. Ultimately, with the Blackout 300, Solinco has produced a speedy all-court weapon for intermediate and advanced players. Aggressive ball strikers who like controlling the action with pace and spin should give this stick a very serious look.

This racquet's weight and balance can be modified using Solinco's weight control modules (interchangeable butt-cap plates that enable you to add 5 or 10 grams to the stock weight)  - sold separately

Time for an upgrade! This racquet too totally rad. I had been playing with a racquet from the 90s and needed better technology to boost my game. A tennis mentor recommended this model and with the Solinco Hyper-G strings, I leveled up and am loving the ball control.

Power, Feel and Spin!I played Division III College tennis in the late 90s and early 2000s. At that time I was using a Wilson Pro Staff 6.1. Fast forward to today and I have tried many racquets for my return to the game as a recreational club player. My choice for the rest of my playing days will be the Solinco Blackout. It has a fantastic combination of feel, power and spin. It does much more “work” for me and is much lighter than the racquet I used during my younger years. I highly recommend this racquet for those with an all court game looking for some extra punch!

Perfect (for me) with modificationsI don't normally write reviews, but I wanted to provide my perspective to balance out some of the 3-star and lower reviews. The Blackout is definitely a "stiff" feeling racquet when you compare it to something like a Blade 98 or VCORE 98 - I think "crisp" is a better word to describe it. I've always played with Pure Drives and the EZONE, and I'd say if you like those racquets, the Blackout will feel very familiar. Some call it a "softer Pure Drive" but I wouldn't call it that - paired with Hyper G 16L at 46 pounds, it is a unique racquet that's unlike any other on the market (I'm a racquet junkie who demos racquets for fun and Solinco racquets, both the Blackout and Whiteout, have a unique feel). I gave up my 3 EZONE 98s (2022) and EZONE 100 (2022) for the Blackout 300 after doing the following: - Replaced grip with Wilson Leather and used a white Wilson Pro Overgrip - Added 4 grams of lead (total) at 3 and 9 o'clock - Strung it with Hyper G 16L at 46 lb (racquet has a high launch angle and a very open pattern, so wanted to tame some of them with a thicker string) This combination made me more consistent, gave me more more power and topspin, and increased my serve speed. Shots that shouldn't have gone in (due to me being late, bad footwork) somehow went in. In my opinion, the Blackout is easier to use than the EZONE (and that's what I loved about the EZONE - it helped me out when I was less than perfect). As a recreational coach, students are always asking what racquets they should buy or try. I put this setup in their hands and by the end of class, they're asking "where can I get this exact racquet"?

Brutally StiffThis racquet certainly provides some power but the price you'll pay is severe, as the stiffness is as punishing as I've encountered in a racquet. This one makes the Pure Drive feel relatively comfortable --- well, maybe not quite. There are certainly numerous options out there with comparable performance that won't leave you with wrist and elbow pain.

Solinco Blackout 300 racquetThis racquet is a hidden gem. Great balance, weight, power, good on serves. Similar to other big brand racquets but better in my opinion.

Solinco BlackoutNice power, good control. A bit stiff. I tried a poly but it made it even stiffer. I cut it out and put in a multifilament Tecnifibre NRG 2 and it played much softer. I'm 70 and still playing at a 4.0 and needed a racquet that I could swing through quicker to keep up with the younger players. I would compare this racquet with the Babolat Pure Drive which is a little harder for me to bring around. The swing weight is a little less on the Blackout which I like.

3.5/5 - Good spin racquet, not for baselineI've owned this racquet for over a month now, playing with it 1-2 times weekly. I love it because it has great feel, pairs well with many string options, and provides unparalleled amounts of spin. Where I've had problems is generating lots of power from baseline shots, versus say a Pro Staff. I plan on adding some tungsten tape to the frame, and messing around with the adjustable butt-caps, and hopefully this will be my racquet of choice for a while.

StiffThere's one criticism I have about this frame and I'm surprised the playtesters never mentioned it but this frame is very stiff. If you have any shoulder problems, tennis elbow or wrist issues, you might want to consider the White Out. The power is easy to generate and it's very similar to the Pure Drive with sleeker cosmetics and a better price point. My only knock is the 72 RA. If there's an update and they can get it down 3-4 points, this could be the holy grail.

Great Sub for Pure Drive/ Pure AeroWhat a great find. I didn't think I would like yet another PA/PD wannabe but this racquet looks great, feels solid and stable like the Babs with a less hollow feel than the PD and more of a PA feel (solid with just a bit of flex in the throat). Easy power. Decent feel and control. Have been using the Pure Drive Plus and this feels so much better plus I get all the power of the PD+ in a frame that is easier to swing.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Received the racquet last week. I would say it's an outstanding model. The racquet provides great control, super quick swing, with a ton of power at the same time. Don't trust the stiffness spec. 71RA looks high, but it gives a good pop without harsh feeling to my arm during the impact. Stability and sweetspot is great all around the court. I strung with Hyper-G 16L at 52lbs, but next time I will adjust to 53-54lbs for a little more control.

Comments: I've played with the most of the tweener racquets on the market and the Blackout is the most balanced one in terms of power, feel, control and comfort. I think I finally found the frame that I can settle!
From: Anonymous, 2/4/22

Comments: One of the best quality racquet releases in recent times! Very powerful, but still manages to offer great control. Solid feel and shines on serves and returns. You'd be hard pressed to find a more all around racquet. Glad I made the switch!
From: Jason, FL, 2/2/22

Comments: Think Babolat Pure Drive, but more feel. Super maneuverable for a power stick, can take big cuts without fencing the ball. Great for volleys as well. Used with Confidential 16 @ 46 lbs.
