Updated with Auxetic 2 for 2024

For 2024, Head updates the Speed MP with Auxetic 2 while also keeping the impressive comfort and responsiveness of previous generations. Compared to the Speed Pro, the Speed MP 2024 not only offers easier access to spin, but it also has a slightly higher launch angle for easier access to depth. With its 325+ swingweight, the Speed MP feels rock solid on groundies and volleys and it rewards full cuts with enough power to close out points. For 2024, in addition to a slightly more flexible and arm-friendly stiffness rating, Head adds Auxetic 2 to the layup, a uniquely flexible material in the yoke and handle to optimize the feel and response. The Speed MP also benefits from Graphene 360+ (labeled Graphene Inside), which strengthens the frame in key locations to provide a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Ultimately, with subtle updates to the feel for 2024, the Speed MP continues to be a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want controllable power and great feel.

Head Speed MP LegendThis is a great racquet. I have played with Head Speed racquets for about 15 years and I've always been pleased with their performance. This is another great step forward in that generational line. It is well balanced, easy to maneuver, offers great control on groundstrokes and overheads, and on top of all that, it's an amazing looking racquet. The sleek black finish combined with black strings, makes it one of the best looking racquets on the court.

Sinner's choiceI've been using an RF97 for 4 years and I felt the difference. The head size 100 is very forgiving, the weight and balance are perfect. The only thing I didn't like is that the paint goes away so easy. Overall is an amazing racquet

Head Speed MP LegendI have been playing with Head Speed racquets for years, but was particularly attracted to the Legend because it is so great looking. It plays as beautifully as it looks. Solid ground strokes, easy topspin, and good control. I liked it so much I bought a second one for a back up.

Head Speed MP Legend - UnbelievableI never played with a Head racquet in my 40 years of tennis but decided to give this one a try alongside the Legend Pro. Despite the racquets being from the same line, they played and felt so different and ultimately I found the MP suited me more giving me a little more power but with the phenomenal control and feel. I now know why the Speed MP is such a popular racquet.....

Amazing racquetJust an amazing tennis racquet! Solid players racquet. Baseline hitting is awesome, serves awesome and very arm friendly. I’ve played every racquet out there and finally found the tennis racquet I like. My recommendation DEMO IT and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I own the 2022 and the new 2024, both are good racquets but the ‘24 is just more plush. And I like the fact you don’t have to worry about over hitting the ball. Solid frame. Strung ALU Power 17 ice blue. 50 pounds

Replaced my MP Radical with the MP SpeedI have played with a Radical for five years, but time came to decide to upgrade it or switch to another frame. I play tested the Speed, Boom and Radical and out of these racquets the Speed provided great stability and gave me more power than the Radical. You can let this frame do the work for you as it will easily produce power. Word of warning though, if you muscle the ball and skim on your technique your shots will sail long. As for the Legend vs the standard model. I own both and unfortunately the white paint on the standard has been stained by sunscreen. So when I bought my second stick, I went with the all black legend. For reference I string with multifilament at 50 pounds.

Made it worseThe previous Speed Auxetic 1.0 was really good. It was already on the verge of slow and clubby, but was still manageable. This new version leaves very little room for customization and is even slower through the air. It's quite even balanced and swings very slow. Not to mention the paint job and auxetic 2.0 seems to make the frame more muted. IMO this newer version is more of a 3.5 NTRP frame and limits out at 4.0. If you're a higher level, you look elsewhere. If you manage to find any 2022 speeds, consider grabbing those. This was not a welcomed update for me. Paint job also looks funky, despite it being very "similar".

Going backwards againThick beam, more even balance, massive club-like swingweight. What's going on here? This is the Speed, not a HyperHammer...

Good racquetThis is a very easy to use racquet with a bit heavy swing weight. If you can get used to the swing weight, this racquet could really help your game. Relatively good in all of spin, power and control.

I wanted to love this racquetDuring my demo of this racquet in January of this year I really liked how it played. In hindsight, I should have taken measurements on the weight, balance, and string. The model I received was below the specs for weight, balance, and swing weight. I have two Head Speed Pros 2022 and liked them and wanted a little more power. I bought the Head Speed MP 2024 Legend edition when it came out. It felt good but not as good as I had hoped. I worked on customizing by adding lead at 3 and 9 (1.5 grams on each side) and later 2 grams at 12. I had it strung with my string of choice, Solinco Confidential 18 at 53 pounds. Side note: after my January demo of the 2024 Speed MP I ended up trying the Head Boom Pro 2024 and that was my racquet of choice in March. 10-20% faster serves and great groundstrokes. Volleys and backhand slices were good, but not as good at the Speed. However, I quickly developed elbow problems that I ignored during the demo. The Boom Pro is stiffer than the Speeds. So I bought the Speed MP as I was still in the return window for the Boom. The Speed MP fixed my arm issues. In May I also started an exercise program with Twist Hand Exercise Bars. I have done them daily and my tennis elbow issues are gone. So now the Boom was back as an option. In playtesting in doubles and singles leagues this summer, I played better with the 2024 Boom Pro, then the Speed Pros (strung at a lower tension - 48 pounds with Toroline co-poly), and then the Speed MP. I debated keeping the Speed MP to try it more. I had missed the return window for the Boom and decided I could use the credit for the Speed MP on my account for possibly another Boom Pro -- I was hoping Tennis-Warehouse/Head would have the great sale they had during Wimbledon during the US Open - the prices were $199. I'm curious to see how the new Wilson RF 01 Pro feels compared to the Boom Pro.

Head Speed MP 2024 Racquet ReviewThis racquet has great control. I can easily hit with topspin, backspin, and flat. However, you must be a fit player to get power because you will have to furnish that yourself.

Good Improvement OverallI’ve been playing with the Legend MP for about four weeks now as of the time of this writing. I originally strung it with Wasabi at 45/42 and liked it quite a bit. Now I’m experimenting with VS Gut mains/Ghost Wire crosses. It’s been equally enjoyable but a much different experience. I think the added swingweight has really brought out the potential in this racquet, making it a much more versatile weapon than the Auxetic 1.0 version it replaces. There can be some flutter in the head on off center hits, which came as bit of a surprise but if you’re concentrating on your footwork and your form, this Legend will do what you ask pretty effectively. I’d love for them to offer a 98” option - that could really be dangerous in my opinion. Very solid stick.

Very Easy To Play WithI bought my first Head Speed in 13 years, and got to say this one felt almost as good as the IG Speed. It was easy to play with, a lot of power and spin to the game. Only little thing if being nitpicky is that since it is lighter than the IG Speed and the RF 97 I use, it did feel less stable and less control on the shots. Not really a con for majority just for anyone trying something different. Overall very solid racquet

It takes timeI upgraded from Speed MP '22 to the '24 version without demoing. Although most of the specs are identical, it definitely does feel different and it took me a while to adjust to this racquet. I love the new matte finish!

2024 Head Speed MPI’ve been playing with the 2022 version and upgraded to the 2024 version. Same overall feel but it seems to give me a little more control. Overall, I think it’s an upgrade. My racquet is strung with a hybrid set up - natural gut on mains and poly on crosses.

Great powerful racquetStrung with Cyclone Tour 17 at 51 pounds. Compared to the Radical MP strung with the same setup It definitely has more pop. I think the long shape of the head lets the strings deform more, so it feels like it's strung a pound or two lower than what it is. I personally think the original speed is prettier though.

The most fun racquetAfter being out of the game for years and demoing loads of other new modern sticks, I can confirm that the Head Speed MP is the most fun racquet I ever played with. Amazing plow through, feels like a rock solid hot knife through butter, and shots feel like they’re being fired out of a rocket launcher when you hit the sweetspot. Incredible spin potential, really good for returning heavy shots (probably due to the swingweight), and effortless if you’re about that life of playing a counterpunchy and even pushy type of game. It really feels so soft and plush in your hand, and the cosmetics are just awesome. Not to mention it’s Novak’s series line - what more of a confidence boost do you need?

THIS RACQUET HAS IT ALL! 10/10WARNING: You may experience too much fun and feel unstoppable with this racquet. I’ll start off by saying I’m about a 4.0/4.5 player for reference. I’ve been playing with a Wilson Blade 98 V7 16x19 for about four years, and it was time for a new racquet. I demoed at least 12 NEW racquets earlier this year and nothing seemed close to my Blade; even the V9 Blade. The accuracy, depth, and plow couldn’t be touched. Until… I demoed this Speed MP. I tried the previous generation, but it was lacking and felt incomplete. Man oh man, this racquet has it ALL. I never thought I’d return to a 100" headsize. They upped the swingweight and completed this stick. My shots are always deep, I can hit basically anywhere I want from deep to short angles, you can pinpoint flat first serves and confidently spin second serves where ever, and great touch for dropshots and volleys. I also didn’t think this racquet would be ideal for a one-handed backhand, but it’s almost too good! You can really whip and swing through with a one-hander! I would recommend this racquet to any type of player whether you’re a baseliner or all around player. This racquet effortlessly sets me up to finish a point with a net volley, smash, or approaching forehand. This stick will make you crazy in a good way. It always has me feeling like it’s too good to be true. I’m 34, and this racquet makes me feel like I’m in my early 20’s again! I have this racquet strung with Hyper-G Soft 1.30 at 54 pounds.

Superb! Small but excellent upgrade!Hello, I'm a 4.5 USTA level male player from Florida. This stick has the perfect update. I was using the Speed MP before they lowered the weight and swingweight of the stick in 2022. I had to shift to the 2022 Speed Pro for the added heft but the 18x20 string patter limited my spin potential and racquet head speed for serves. Switching to this new Speed MP 2024, i got all that spin potential back so I can take incredibly strong cuts at the ball and have them land inside. The swingweight has been increased so the the racquet is super stable at the net, returns and against power hitters. The weight of the racquet is still low enough to move with speed and generate amazing speed/power at serve. Also, since the racquet is less stiff now, its super comfortable, but there is enough feel to get connected to the ball. All in all, the updates are small but adding all of them, this makes for the best Speed MP ever made and I can give up my Speed Pro 2022 (which I liked) finally. Love it. Highly recommended!

Well balanced, maneuverable.I am the proud owner of a Speed MP Black, 2022. Curious enough to try this new version of the Speed MP 2024, and I was not disappointed. Immediately felt the slight weight towards the head of the racquet. On court it handles like the old MP, but on contact it feels more flexible and easier to swing. Sweet spot seems bigger than previous versions, and very forgiving. Nice power and accuracy. Highly recommended to intermediate or advance players.
