This spin-monster combines explosive speed with easy power

Introducing the Extreme MP 2024! Like previous generations, the racquet specializes in speed, spin, and power. At approximately 11.2 ounces strung, the Extreme MP is perfectly weighted for intermediate players, but it will also tempt the more advanced player who wants explosive acceleration from the baseline and quick handling at net. For 2024, Head adds Auxetic 2 to the layup, a uniquely flexible material in the yoke and handle to optimize the racquet's feel and response. The Extreme MP also benefits from Graphene 360+ (labeled Graphene Inside), strengthening the frame in key locations to provide a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Additional technologies include Spin Grommets, which enable greater string movement for increased snapback, and a Spin Shaft, which increases torsional stability to better complement topspin mechanics. Ultimately, with incremental updates to the feel, the Extreme MP continues to be a solid option for those looking to play aggressive tennis.

AwesomeI'm not a racquet expert (new 3.0 player), but this thing is awesome. I demoed the this along with the Babolat Pure Aero and Yonex VCORE. I went with the Extreme although the Pure Aero was a close second. I grew up playing racquetball and recently switched to tennis since no one plays racquetball anymore. This racquet has made the transition to that easier and more fun. I use a one-handed backhand and often hit a slice. Even though I'm a novice, I can uncork some great shots with this racquet. Very happy with the Extreme and I think most others would be too.

Excellent! Prefer slightly over the Speed MPLove this racquet. I am coming from the '22 Head Boom MP and bought the '24 Head Extreme/Speed MPs this year. I am an intermediate player 3.5 Male and am switching from the Boom since it is a bit light and the head shape forces you to hit the ball slightly forward of center. I like the Oval shape of the Extreme and Speed better and find that the two racquets interchange easily since they are almost identical in shape. Extreme is easy to play at all times. Like many intermediate players, some days I am hitting the ball great and on those days I switch to the Speed MP for a bit more power. The rest of the time I play the Extreme since the added spin helps me keep the ball in and lets me focus on my making contact. I also use my Extreme to hit Orange/Green balls with my seven year old son. This racquet is easier to handle then the Speed since it is bit lower swing speed. I find that my son has the most success when I hit the ball with just the right amount of spin and find the Extreme easier to impart spin/control distance and speed then the '22 Boom and Speed. Not sure why but I think that I am swinging slower to keep pace down and the free spin from the Extreme is great for my son. In comparison to the '24 Speed MP, the Extreme provides more spin, comfort but the Speed has more free power. Speed is easier for me on serve since I have trouble releasing the racquet and the higher swing weight of the Speed helps me out in that department. The Speed has a tiny bit more power but I don't find I need the power since the Extreme allows me to swing harder and use spin to keep the ball in. So I don't make a conscious effort to do anything differently. This racquet is very similar to the Yonex VCore 100. If you like the VCore but don't like the Yonex head shape then this is a great option. I demoed the VCore, Ezone, Speed, '24 Boom MP, and Wilson Ultra V4. I liked the VCore, Speed, and Extreme the best of those three. Went with the Extreme over VCore because the head shape of VCore (similar to Boom) makes it hard to transition to other racquets. Since I also wanted to buy the Speed MP this racquet was easiest to transition since the shape and power are very similar. Love the colors and overall aesthetic of the racquet. All the fluorescent Toroline colors look great in this racquet. Hope Head will offer a replacement Yellow Hyrdosorb grip, but have found that Alien Pros hi-vis yellow overgrips match really well. Another great racquet from Head!

2024 HEAD Extreme MPAs a former 2022 HEAD Extreme MP player, the changes in playability were noticeable. I had switched to the Tecnifibre TFight 295 in 2023, strung with Volkl VTorque Tour 19 gauge and now have the same set up on the MP. It has a larger sweet spot than the TFight and a nice balance of control and power. As an intermediate player, it is a perfect addition to my tennis bag, handling net play and baseline equally well.

Very good racquetIt's my first tweener frame and been playing with it since July. Yes, the Extreme MP is not Prestige kinds of feel and touch, but the control is decent, spin is good, and power is there. Even comfort is good with a full bed of poly (BBO). Tennis is much easier to play with this racquet.

Easy spin, easy power, easy to play withI am a player who uses a lot of spin and I tend to gravitate towards these types of racquets. I used the 2022 version and was using the VCORE 100 as well. I would say the feel sits in the middle of both. The VCORE is also great but maybe too soft in my opinion. I’m really loving how this gives a lot of spin and enough power. If you get sloppy with technique it can spray a little but for the most part if you stay disciplined or if you do get sloppy you can let the racquet do the work and you’ll be good. It’s great on the defensive end. I definitely feel the difference from the 2022 version.
