Overview

Introducing the 2023 Radical MP! Like previous generations, this update delivers easy targeting and great feel to intermediate and advanced players. Compared to the Radical Pro, the MP is a tad lighter and faster, making it easier to whip up spin, scramble on defense or react quickly at net. For 2023 Head improves ball feedback with the addition of a uniquely flexible Auxetic construction to the yoke. This racquet also features Graphene 360+ (called Graphene Inside), which combines the stability and easy power of polarized weighting with SpiralFibers in the lower head for a softer feel. Like the previous generation, this racquet has Head's Control Pattern which features tighter mains in the center in order to deliver a more precise and predictable trajectory. The payoff is more confidence when turning up the pace. Ultimately, with subtle updates to the feel, the Radical MP will continue to attract intermediate and advanced players looking for a versatile player's racquet that keeps big cuts on target.

HusseinI am a 5.0 NTRP all around player, I am 63 years old player, played with all racquets, Wilson, Yonex, Babolat, you name it, this is the best raquet I played with in my life, amazing ground strokes, slice, spin, believe it or not my game improved at least 15% at this age. I lowered the tension at 45 pounds, it is just amazing, I recommend this racquet to advanced players all around players.

Good at everythingI've tried just about every racquet under the sun—it's a hobby that only sometimes gets out of control. Even so, the Radical MP is my match stick of choice. It's quick through the air, stable, and has the perfect mix of power and control. Plenty of spin too. There's nothing it doesn't do well. For me, the biggest strength is how it serves. It generates so much speed that hitting bombs comes natural. Comfort-wise, it's also solid. I'm pretty arm-sensitive and it has been good to me. My old man too—he had wrist and arm pain with his last racquet and this has been a real godsend. My background: 5.0 tourney player, mostly dubs. Hit with lots of spin and like to serve-and-volley/play super-aggro. Side-note: I've also tried the Rad Pro. It's also great but lacks just a bit of power/demands a bit more without giving anything extra back compared the the MP, which I feel is just a clear if small upgrade.

Best Racquet Ever! This Radical MP is the best racquet I’ve ever played with. I've been searching for the perfect racquet for me and I was ready to give up until I demoed this Radical MP. I’ve played with many, many racquets over the past two years. And I have chosen this racquet. Ordered two matching ones and I couldn’t be happier. There is so much versatility when it comes to the Radical MP. You can hit with a lot of spin or hit the ball really flat. I normally prefer an 18x20 string pattern but the way the Radical's 16x19 is set up it feels like an 18x20. Lots of free power and control. The racquet feels great too. The ball feels like it stays on the racquet longer than most racquets. Off the bounce shots are so easy with this racquet. For me I can quickly turn defense into offense. If you are thinking about trying this racquet don’t hesitate. I have this string with Head Lynx Tour at 48 pounds. GREAT STICK!

Absolutly amazedIt changed my game favorably, I achieved more control in my shots. It feels light despite weighing 300 grams. I am very happy with the purchase. It arrived in perfect condition, already strung and balanced.

Decent racquet if you hit a flatter ballI thought I would play like Agassi with this racquet. I was wrong. I had a hard time generating spin, but it plays pretty well if you like hitting flat.

excellent RacketI am a 5.0 NTRP all-around player, I played with the Wilson Blade and Yonex Ezone for years , which are good racquets, but I am 63 years old, I need something more powerful and lighter and wow what a racquet, for ground strokes and serve it is amazing, but volleys I lost a bit of control and feel, but over all I recommend the racquet for advanced players .

Control racquetThe Head Radical MP is one of the best racquets on the market. It is quite rigid, which gives you a lot of control. Its weight of 300 grams is ideal for players who need an agile racquet, and the balance also does its part in this regard. I strung it with Kirschbaum Competition 1.30 with 54 pounds. Highly recommended.

Head Radical MPThis is my third Head Radical MP, and my first in a L2 grip. I previously used a 4&1/8 L1 grip size and felt like it was too small. The Radical MP 2023 is a nice, well balanced racquet. I had switched from a Pure Drive team and found that the Radical was a better balance of power, control, and spin for me. It is not too heavy, and generates adequate power for playing offensively, yet allows me to play accurate and controlled defense when I need to. Finally, I really enjoy slicing, volleys and playing drop shots with this stick. Serves are okay, nothing special. I would say my favorite part about this racquet is the confidence it gives me. Volleys 8/10. Serves 7/10. Forehand/Backhand 9/10. Slices 8/10. I have been using the 2023 Radical MP for 1.5 years

Amazing customer service and products!I used the Tennis Warehouses demo program to try different racquets. I knew this was the one the moment I tried it. The Tennis Warehouse is amazing all the way around. They sent racquets immediately, always answered the phone and provided excellent customer service. I go this racquet on sale and got the discount for doing the demo so it was a great deal

Absolutely rips. Hit it hard.Feels like you can hit this racquet as hard as you want, without worry, from baseline. Low trajectory on flat shots and topspin shots feel easy. Seems to go exactly where you want every time. Confidence inspiring for sure. Great feel and seems to respond well to touch shots too. Definitely didn’t add speed to my first serve but spinny serves are lively. Probably doesn’t make the greatest noise when hit slightly off but I’m still getting used to the 98 square inch head. No dampener, just an overgrip (super grap wet) and Head Lynx Tour 17/1.25 at 48 pounds. A little arm fatigue after 2 hours but no pain. So far, loving this racquet.

Have found it to be very arm friendly. Nice control and stability. Just a great versatile racquet and I am very happy that I splurged for it.

Pretty good racquetThe Radical MP is great for intermediate/advanced players looking for an all around good racquet. Although I believe the CPI rating is not the most accurate, I definitely noticed its good control and solid feel over the slight lack of power. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend this racquet to young/beginning players, is how difficult it is to use. The racquet stands out as arguably the most difficult MP for beginners in the HEAD lineup due to its 98 square inch head size and its relatively closed string bed. I’ve noticed that the racquet is not very forgiving if you miss the sweet spot which would definitely become a problem for people looking for a comfortable experience. On the other hand, if used by a player with good experience, this racquet is not one to pass on. All in all, I believe this is a great racquet, but for the right player.

Awesome.I play tennis at a high school level, my UTR is about a 5, and this racquet has cranked my skill level up a notch. I used to play with a Head Speed, and I've tried Wilson Blade's, Head Extreme's, Head Boom's, and more. Overall there isn't a better racquet for serving, baseline grinding and volleying. Love this racquet.

Awesome!I am a freshman in high school, and I've been playing for quite some time now. I would consider myself about a USTA 4.5, and this racquet is perfect. I can hit every shot, and there are no weaknesses whatsoever. Add a little weight in the hoop, and a little in the handle, and you've got yourself a perfect racquet.

Tennis elbow friendly, and a powerful racquetI played four years of college tennis and used the Head Radical Liquid Metal... It served me well and though it had a reputation as an arm buster, I never really experienced issues. However, coming back to tennis after a long 15 year break, I soon developed a bad case of tennis elbow. Having never experienced it in my history of junior and college tennis, it was awful. I could barely lift a cup, let alone a racquet. After physio and recovery I looked for a new option and tried over 12 different racquets from Babolat, Wilson and Head. After extensively testing I couldn't help but gravitate to the updated Radical once more. But the Pro felt just a tiny bit too heavy, so switching to the MP was perfect. I love to hit a very heavy, topspin forehand and I was really pleased to find access to a lot of spin and the flexibility of the racquet I feel amplifies that whilst also being easy on the arm. The lighter weight allows for a very fast racquet head speed too and was easier to wield at the net than the heavier Pro version. I've since added around three grams of lead tape in the 10 and 2 positions and finally switched to a full bed of poly strings which also adds three grams over the more arm friendly poly/synthetic gut hybrid string setup I was using for a while. The result is a racquet that's flexible yet packs a punch and can absorb hard balls from big hitting opponents. So if you've suffered from some tennis elbow and are looking for a new stick, I highly recommend giving the Radical a try. Combine it with some soft, arm friendly strings too!

Radical MPBought this as a replacement for the 2010 version. Couldn’t be happier as the balance and weight feel the same but the flex of the racquet is crisp again.

Great RacketThis version of the Head Radical is a great modern control players racquet. Feels more comfortable than the previous 2021 version and a more power than a Wilson Blade.

Head Radical MP reviewI switched to the Head Radical after hitting the wall with the Wilson Blade v8. What a huge positive difference. There is a lot of free power and great control. It is great for volleying. A very positive switch for me.

Control and PowerVery smooth racquet; offers a lot of power and control!

Powerful jack of all trades; master of noneThe one surprise about the Radical MP is that it's extremely powerful. TW testing (see the "Power Map") confirms what a playtest feels: it's one of the most powerful 98s, on part with the Pure Strike and just a step behind the Pure Drive 98 and Dunlop SX 300. Otherwise, it's exactly what its reputation suggests: pretty good at every style and shot but a not a specialist for anything, unless "all court grinding" is a specialty. I find it frustrating because its access to spin, its ball pocketing, and its control is far below attacking/control racquets such as the Wilson Pro Staff 97, but if you are more of a baseline player and are willing to trade control for power, that might not concern you. The Auxetic is noticeable but only a tiny difference from the previous model, so to my mind, no reason to switch if you have the old model. To me, this is a good-but-not-great racquet and the Pure Strike 16x19 or Blade v6 16x19 would be better choices for a powerful, somewhat stiff 98 -- those have the same power but more control, and are only slightly less forgiving.

GreatThis racquet literally does everything correct in its weight class. I truly believe you can't find a better racquet that is 10.6 oz unstrung right now.
