Head combines easy spin and power with raw speed and impressive comfort

Rising intermediate players looking for an arm-friendly racquet with easy targeting should give the Boom Team 2024 a very serious look. Like the previous generation, this racquet packs a 102in² head, making it a tad more forgiving and powerful than the Boom MP while also delivering enough spin potential to bring the ball down hard. For 2024, Head softens the beam to deliver a more arm-friendly ride while also adding Auxetic 2, a uniquely flexible material in the yoke and handle to optimize the response. Other technologies include a Morph Beam, which blends box and angular cross sections to combine classic control and feel with impressive stability and power. The Boom Team also features Graphene 360+ (labeled Graphene Inside), which strengthens the frame in key locations to provide a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Ultimately, with its easy power and spin-friendly targeting, the Boom Team 2024 remains a great option for intermediate players. The arm-friendly comfort is a nice bonus.

The expertiseExpertise is what impressed me the most when I spoke to the team about what the best racquet for me would be. Tennis Warehouse should promote this advantage much more.

Great RacquetI paired this racquet with RPM Blast 15L (at 56 pounds) and it gives a good combination of spin control and power. Best racquet for intermediate players. Make sure to grip the racquet with non slippery ones.

Soft, powerful racquetGotta hand it to HEAD for making soft racquets with thicker beams in their lighter models and this one might be the best. Easy on my tennis elbow, but powerful = a hard combo to come by. Volley power AND control are a dream, I’ve NEVER played better. Stability is top notch, partly due to the beam but also the maneuverability allowing you to get the racquet where it needs to be every time. Mine is 291 grams and 310 swingweight strung. I have had no issues hitting against other players: 41 years old, 160 pounds, 5’11”. My wife played in college and she’s really picky about what I choose to rally with her because she hates anemic tennis. My last racquet was the Pure Aero Rafa 290 which she loved for me to use because it is a powerful, maneuverable, spin machine, but it was killing my elbow. I see MORE spin, equal power, more maneuverability, all in a more comfortable frame in the 2024 Boom Team. I’m buying another. My only beef is HEAD does a poor job attaching the grip to the pallets. After ripping shot after shot, by the third hitting session the bottom of the grip slipped off the end of the handle during a match. I removed it and replaced it with a TW leather grip to add a little weight without affecting the swingweight. I guess my second beef with HEAD is the regular Team doesn’t come in the all mint colorway. My plan was to use it as a platform frame but it played so great stock I’m gonna leave it, save for the forced grip replacement. I’m stringing fullbed Multifeel black 16 gauge at 54 pounds on an Alpha crank.

Power racquetPair this with Head Velocity MLT and it becomes powerful. Not suitable if you are a big hitter. Best for beginners and intermediate players.
