Updated with a softer feel, the Pure Aero Plus hits a very heavy ball

Babolat updates the feel and string bed of one of the game's best extended length racquets. It's called the Pure Aero Plus and it gives experienced ball strikers the ability to hit a very heavy ball. Like the standard Pure Aero, this stick combines a powerful tapered beam with a spin-friendly 16x19 string pattern. What separates it, however, is an extended 27.5" length, which translates into extra pop on groundies and serves. For 2023, in addition to a softer, more arm-friendly flex point, Babolat adds comfort with NF² Technology which uses flax inserts in the handle and upper hoop to soften ball impact. Babolat also updates its FSI Spin technology with slightly tighter string spacing. The result is greater control (and confidence) when maximizing stroke speed in the service of power and spin. Ultimately, by combining impressive power with spin-friendly precision, Babolat has delivered a dangerous weapon to experienced players. The softer feel for 2023 is a nice touch.

Babolat Pure Aero Plus 2023 RacquetThe Pure Aero Plus 2023 is an outstanding racquet. It has power, control and produces deep top spin shots. With medium to high level racquet speed strokes it is a formidable weapon on the court.

Tried every extended, this or Blackout XTDI’ve tried every extended racquet out there and this Babolat or the Solinco Blackout are best ones. The Babolat Pure Aero Plus is definitely the best serving racquet I’ve used. Still easy to swing, I used a bit a of lead at 3/9 but it’s great in stock. Tons of control for a power frame, definitely think the tighter string pattern helps with control as does the softer flex, as the ball stays on the racquet longer. Way better feel imo than the previous versions

Pure Aero PlusIt’s a little unorthodox and I am still on a bit of a learning curve! However in the right hands it is a formidable weapon! Would only recommend to advanced level players!

Easy frame but best used with real intentReally comfortable frame, no arm issues at all. You can grip it really lightly against big hitters or playing indoors where balls are flying. Outdoors on slow hard courts I nearly gave up with this frame as it felt tinny until I adjusted my grip so it was much firmer in my hand. Also went for a more extreme grip for volleys and now it really punches the ball out of the string bed. In singles you can keep the ball deep and get set up for hitting a winner. Slices are really effective. Doubles you need to commit and swing big otherwise the swing weight will leave you hitting a light ball. Serving is easy and you get plenty of free points just hitting flat. Wish grip 5's were readily available. Fun frame to use and once you feel confident with it you can simply overpower your opponent. You can play quite lazily with this frame and be effective but otherwise you need to really hit big, anything in between is quite frustrating.

Best Aero to DateHi I am an ex-pro and college player back in the 80's. Best racquet since the Aero GT plus and the Decima. This new one is quite similar, but with so many improvements! Better pocketing, more comfortable, more feel and more control. The extra length now gives you more power without sacrificing control. I added 2.5 grams at the 12 position and 5 grams at the base. A bit more power and control still great. Normally I do not use dampeners, but this one sounds strange without. String spacing is a bit strange. Starts tight, then a bit wider, then tight again on the mains. Why? But it seems to work. I'm getting best results with Weiss Ultra Cable at 52 pounds. Also, finally Babolat put on a finish that does not chip off. Such a big disappointment on the previous two versions.

Only for aggressive players with full strokesI just switched to this racquet (along with a self-extended Gravity MP) after previously always using regular-length, 12oz+/high swingweight frames. I love it: powerful serves with tons of action; ripping ground strokes; adequate touch around the net. But it is a major adjustment that will not work for everyone. This racquet rewards full, committed strokes on every shot, giving you excellent spin and power and surprisingly good touch and directional control. The directional control is not at the level of Pro Staffs, Blades, and the Gravity Pro (my previous racquets, now moved to backups) but still very good; it is not merely "spray and pray" the way I find the Pure Drive and previous Pure Aeros to be. The downside is that if you do not swing out confidently on every shot (even defensive slices, running forehands, panic half-volleys, second serves), this racket punishes you with anemic balls. The problem is low static weight. If you use the low static weight to swing fast, the long leverage of the racquet wins the battle with the ball (Force = Mass times Acceleration). If you do not, then a slow swing with the low static weight in the head turns this into a wimp paddle. This situation is not fixable because you can't add much weight to the head of a 27.5" frame without slowing your swing badly: the same racquet weight in 27.0" will go up in swingweight 15 to 20 points heavier if you extent the racquet to 27.5"-- that 0.5" makes a huge difference. This isn't a "problem" so much as a design feature. So, only use this racquet if you are capable of swinging fast at EVERY ball.

Amazing racquetI used to play with a Babolat Pure Strike 16 x 19 before this racquet and I loved it but I thought it lacked a bit of power which I needed in my game to finish the points earlier and also because I saw many players playing with a longer frame. So I purchased this racquet without even testing it. It is exactly what I was looking for. More easy power, more spin, more reach, so it is easier to finish the points earlier. The only cons are that you have to sacrifice a bit of touch, feel and control. You don't feel as connected to the racquet like with the Pure Strike.
