Overview
One of the best value multifilaments of all time, Wilson Sensation offers impressive comfort and power at a great price. Known for its vibration dampening, Sensation original lives up to its long-standing reputation as an arm-friendly string choice. It's a great option for players looking for a soft, playable alternative to natural gut, or for those seeking a more comfortable selection compared to the stiffer synthetic guts. The 660-foot reel is convenient for frequent stringers.

Soft strings, easy on the armI have been using this string for more than 20 years. It is very durable for my game style and easy on the arm.
So disappointedStrung these at 53 pounds on a 16x19 new racquet. Unusable if you hit with a ball machine. Every hit, I was left with strings in the shape of a rainbow. Maybe a 3.5 player here, but swing well. Take this review for what it's worth.
Price jump!Great strings, but huge price jump!

Lively stringThis string had good power and comfort for a beginner. Good all-around string in a Wilson Ultra 100L.

Best cross string in a hybrid setupI came back to tennis after quitting tennis 12 years ago. I spent over 12 months trying to find a good cross string and tension for my Wilson Stratus Three racquet. Finally, I found it after trying at least ten different cross strings/tensions. Mains: Ashaway Kevlar 18 gauge, 52 pounds. Crosses: Sensation green color, 16 gauge, 52 pounds, which is much better in feel and longer dwell time than other multifilaments such as Live Wire Professional.
Great stringSensation 16 is the best value you can get in a multi-filament string. I would not use anything else. Great feel and it is easy on the arm.
Buy almost anything elseThis string is soft. There is absolutely nothing else to recommend it. After only a few minutes of hard hitting (certainly less than 20 minutes), the slippery coating of this string will wear through in the crosses and then the main strings will "lock," meaning stick out of position. Spin goes way down and consistency evaporates. The string rapidly frays, and breaks sooner than most others. There are many other soft strings that perform much better. It's a bit surprising that Wilson still makes this outdated string. Don't use it just because you did years ago -- try instead Head Velocity MLT, Prince Synthetic Duraflex, Gamma Synthetic Gut Wearguard, or Babolat Origin, or several of the Technifibre offerings. If you want to stick with Wilson multi (but why would you?), NXT Max is acceptable.
stringsNice feel!
Wilson Sensation 16Wilson Sensation 16 is remarkably consistent for both the stringer and the player. It strings easily and ties off very neatly. It plays consistently well across many player types and racquet types. It offers great control and is arm friendly.
Good flat strokesUsed this string with a Babolat Pure Drive swirly at 60lbs. I usually play with an even lower tension, but I found the string tension drop to a level I was more comfortable with after a few sessions anyway. I was happy with the flat shots I could generate, but I found the ball sailing on me at times. What seemed like good swings would turn into balls missing by 2+ feet, but I found ways to mitigate this after a little while. I don't see myself going back to this string, but that doesn't mean I don't recommend it for others, especially if you like a low tension.

Comments: I'm impressed, I have been using RPM Blast for about a year. I demoed a racquet strung with Sensation 16 and got great spin, power, and comfort. I am switching to this string. I'm a solid 3.5 rating and play two to three times a week. I have been playing only about 2.5 years. I play with topspin and use a kick serve on my second serve. This string has outperformed the RPM Blast in my Wilson Blade 98 v7.
