Overview

This is the thickest version of Wilson Sensation, one of the game's oldest and most popular multifilaments. At 1.35mm this one offers increased durability over the thinner gauges of Sensation. It also manages to deliver a nice combination of comfort, power and feel. Players looking for phenomenal all around playability in a very arm friendly package are encouraged to give this one a try.

This thick gauge works great in racquets with super open string patterns.

  • Gauge: 15/1.35mm
  • Length: 40ft/12.2m
  • Composition: Multifilament
  • Color: Natural

Poly - Sensation HybridHave had a lot of difficulty finding a durable, arm friendly string / string combo that allows for power and spin for my teenage son. Poly mains and 15 gauge gut crosses worked but not economically sustainable for a junior tournament player. Using 15 gauge Sensation for the crosses gave similar durability without sacrificing feel according to my son. Would highly recommend this combo.

Great for a defensive playerThis string does great work in neutralizing an opponents topspin shots. The girth of the string also absorbs the ball-impact so well that I suffer just about no arm pain. With the 17 gauge I feel a lot of instability and arm pain after the match is over. With 16 gauge the stability is a bit better, and still some arm pain. I use 57.5 pounds as my tension.

Comments: I tried this string in my Wilson Ultra 103S at 63 lbs. It doesn't move around too much. It really has a good feel on groundstrokes and net play. Serves have some good pop as well. I hit pretty flat since I use a continental grip but I think I am getting a little more spin than with some of the polys I have been trying.
