Great racquet, wrong stringsI’m really happy with my new Wilson Clash, but I was disappointed with the strings. I went with the recommended tension, but the first time I played it, it made a horrible sound and didn’t hit well. The strings were way too loose. I had to have it restrung and now it’s much better.

Good Starter StringsThese are perfect if you're interested in comfortable strings with some pop or if you are overwhelmed by researching strings to put on your racquet. You can't really go wrong with these, but they probably won't 'wow' you.

Wilson NXT17GThis multifilament string is soft and its playability is very good. It is not durable but I am willing to buy this string because of its playability

Great StringsWilson NXT 17 is a great string, especially for arm or shoulder issues. I have a lot of control and the feel is really nice. It doesn't have as much power, but I don't mind because my post surgery shoulder has zero pain after playing several matches.

Made my Max 200G feel new.Recently strung one of my old 200G’s with NXT 17 Comfort at 46lbs. I’m basically a flat hitter with nominal top spin, and of a certain age (71), but just love how solid my groundstrokes, volleys, and even serves feel with this string. No break-in time, really decent pocketing, and cushy court feel. Back in the day, I had trouble serving with this stick (a lot went long), but so far, not a problem. I’m not a rated player but I do hit hard.

My go-to stringI have tried so many different type of stings in the past ten years and now Wilson NXT has become my go-to string! It has been helping with my tennis elbow. The reason I gave it a four stars is that it doesn’t last long.

Great feel, but durability is a BIG problemI've had elbow issue for a few years, and I'm now starting to play regularly again. I wanted an arm-friendly string. (I'm 65 and a 4.5 level.) These strings play great--soft with a terrific feel. I thought I'd found my "Holy Grail" strings. No issues with power or spin. Unfortunately, the strings have broken twice after only 5-7 hours of playing. Honestly, I don't want to spend over $400 per year on strings, so I'm going to try Wilson Sensation. It's half the price.

Texas tennis stringNo matter what racquet I have used this string has always been consistent. If you like multifilament I don’t believe you can go wrong with this one. Offers right amount of power and really good ball pocketing which gives it better than decent control as well. And it is arm friendly. I would have it strung two pounds higher than what you really want because after some play it drops around two pounds of tension but then it seems to stabilize and doesn’t start losing more tension until after quite a bit of play. Definitely recommend.

Terrific StringsI love these strings. I've had elbow issues for about one year, and these strings are helping me to get back on the court. The strings provide a great feel for the ball (I use a ProStaff 97). I've had no problem generating power or spin. Yes, the stings fray...so what? Having said that, I do wish the strings were a bit more durable.

Great feelI really like this string - you can really feel the ball! Drawback: it frays and breaks easily.

Comfort PlusThis string is not only comfortable but has great feel. Used it as a full time teaching pro for years and it is in every racquet I own. So glad it is still around.

NXT 17Put in NXT in my racquet with the hope that it will be comfortable and have decent spin and control. It is comfortable. But the spin is lacking and this affects the control. I have a good "linear" feeling in my shots but the lack of spin makes them lend a feet or two out. In other words, it is almost there but not exactly. It also has a low lunch angle and I struggle a bit on my one handed backhands. because of the low angle, I need to aim higher. But because of the flattish nature here, this leads to more errors or net dumps. Quite frustrating. I am going back to a cheaper string that has more spin and still is plenty comfortable (Head Velocity MLT 17).

A friend on courtI'm not one of those people who can go down the rabbit hole, eyes bleary, analyzing and comparing string. NXT 17 has been my steady choice for 4 years now. Its touch, pocketing, and ease on the elbow (at 54#) is just right. I routinely play at elevations from 1200' to a mile high, and it works well for all. Big difference between the 16g and the 17g. For touch and feel and knowing what the heck your racquet face is doing, 17 g (or higher) is your friend. Yes, it frays (giving you even better pocketing), but that's the trade-off. I string racquets and have lots of happy, middle-aged and senior clients who switch from all the jazzy polys to NXT 17. It ain't neon orange with octagonal ridges but you'll feel like you've got a friend working with you on court instead of a temperamental child in your string bed.

Great strings, durability questionableLove the feel with these strings, but they seem to break fairly quickly. Just understand you'll need to restring often.
