Overview
Luxilon Alu Power 115 is the thinnest version of Alu Power, one of the most iconic strings of the modern era. Our TW playtesters found this one to play a tad softer and with even better feel than the standard 16L version. It also offers massive spin potential and the kind of control that allows big hitters to take full cuts with maximum confidence.

Great on a traditional racquetI used this for a few years on my RF97. It's a soft, touch oriented string. The weight of the racquet generated the power I needed. Now I'm getting older and cannot handle the full weight anymore. I now use the Pro Staff v14 weighted up to 12.2 ounces. This string still feels amazing but I just cannot generate enough pace with it to hit through the court. I'll be changing to 16 gauge ALU Power Rough. If you are touch oriented or use an old Pro Staff type racquet, this string is unmatched.

Luxilon 18Love the way these play. Good feel, control and spin. They go dead quicker than would like, but definitely a decent string.

Arm friendly with good control...I'm a middle age player who grew up in the Sampras-Agassi era.. This string for me is close as you can get to the feel & control of a traditional natural gut, while also having some spin & power that the modern game requires. If you're a flat hitter with well groomed strokes for topsin & slice shots, you will love this string. Oh did I mention, it's very arm-friendly as well...
Breaks Quicker than OthersI normally play with Yonex Poly Tour Pro 1.15, and Solinco Confidential 1.15 in my Head Speed Pro 18x20. Both these strings Outlast Luxilon ALU power by about 100%. I typically break string in 8 to 10 hours, but this Luxilon breaks in five. But boy does this string play great! Amazing spin and control! I wish I could afford it.

Comments: I have a nice constant pull electric stringer, so I tend to tinker way to much with strings. I have tried 16, 16L ALU, Big Banger, Big Banger Ace, Hyper-G, Confidential, Tour Bite, Outlast, Cyclone, 4G, Wilson Gut, Luxilon Gut, Babolat Gut, various hybrids of multifilaments in the mains and probably many more. I bought a real of these at the beginning of summer and used them in my Head PT57a, TGT 260.3 and PT57E. All of these frames are very soft, pretty much all RA 60 or lower. They provide zero power to the player so what seemed to work for me was to string them very high. I am talking 60 pounds, 65 pounds, 70 pounds. Once I started getting around 68 pounds it was a bit stiff, but up to that point it was amazing. I found 65 pounds to be my sweetspot. I tend to have a flatter swing, some spin but by now means do I ever break strings. I love the feel of gut and polyester, but the expense and the tanking of the polyester crosses don't really work. I was hoping to find something that provided more spin, comfortable feel, and a little bit of duration. These pretty much checked the boxes for two weeks then I started spraying balls. This is playing four matches a week plus hitting with a club pro. I put some of the new 1.28 Roland Garros ALU power in another frame, the drop off in feel and spin was noticeable. So, if you aren't a string breaker, don't mind restringing every month or so, I say these are great for your game!
