A Lot of Years with Natural GutI am 78 years old. I began playing tennis at summer camp when I was 9 years old. In my youth, with wood racquets, we used natural gut - always. With the new racquets of today I wasn't sure natural gut was an option. I play with a Wilson Clash 100L because it's the least stiff of all racquets and suitable for my arm. I experimented with Luxilon Natural Gut 16L/1.25 String at 42 tension, and found it to be comfortable for my arm. I take classes and private lessons and play tennis for the love of the game, for practice, for experiment, for exercise, for meeting new people, and just to be outdoors. I will keep playing as long as my knees hold up. In Los Angeles, it is not easy to find Luxilon, so I turn to Tennis Warehouse for their enthusiastic video reviews and products. I am comfortable with the combination I am using right now. Thank you.
Not worth the priceThis string is okay, but not worth the price. The string feels like natural gut with a plastic slippery coating. The string plays much stiffer than Babolat/Wilson and is not as comfortable as either version. Power level is similar to VS Touch, string holds tension similar to poly in that it loses a lot after about 2 weeks. The slick coating wears off very quickly at which point the strings get stuck out of shape and require constant adjustment. Where VS Touch has a waxy coating which helps the strings slide some, the coating here feels more like glue and gets sticky after the slick coating wears off which makes it hard to move the strings around. Feel is a bit better than synthetic gut/multi but not worth the price. For example Head Velocity MLT or Prince Syn Gut Duraflex are $5-$10 per set and play similar to this string at $50/set. Yes this string is better, but so much so that it is worth 5-10x the cost.
Luxilon natural gutSeems as good as the others in that price range so far. Never know how long your luck will last with gut. Am an old flat hitter so lasts a long time for me and is easy on arm.

Good for players with rotator cuff problemsI have been using natural gut for 60 years. I use Luxilon Natural Gut combined with ALU Power. Now I will use it alone because my rotator cuff problem.

This is my favorite for tennis elbowA stringer in Chicago recommended this to me when I was having tennis elbow problems. He said something along the lines of, "You'll hate me because this is the only string you'll want to use and it's so expensive." He's right that it's the only string I want to use! I'd like to thank him for turning me onto it and helping out my tennis elbow. Other stringers where I live in NY aren't fans of this and say Bablot's VS is much better, but I've tried both and find the Luxilon nat gut just feels and plays better for me. I get it in the 125 and don't find it squirrely at all.
My customer loved this gutI am a stringer. The gut was of high quality with some type of coating which made it easy to string. They mark the half way spot which helped me.
I have only strung for one customer and he loved the string. I string his Weed 135 racket with it, using it on the 14 mains combined with Gamma Glide 16 on the crosses, with the two outside stings I used AG 100 15L to complete the Live Perephery affect.
This method causes the racket to have a larger sweetspot than it already has.

Comments: Used it on the crosses. The positives are that these strings are easier to string then Babolat Natural Gut, more spin, control and better durability. These strings do have a different feel, it seems more like a poly in some ways versus the soft Babolat Natural Gut, which you may or may not like. At first I hated it but then I strung it like a poly and like it very much. The key is to string this gut about two to three pounds less than Babolat Natural Gut.

Comments: I honestly loved the stuff. I've read some unfavorable reviews about the 16g, but loved it in my custom Head Graphene Touch Speed Pro. I did a hybrid with Luxilon Big Banger Original. The frame ended up around 356 grams with a 330 swingweight. I strung two frames and got plenty of quality hours over the course of three weeks. I'd happily play this again. Great touch, lots of pop, plenty of access to spin sliding across the smooth poly. I went 55 and 53 pounds on the tension.
