Luxilon updates its Element formula with even greater comfort

With the introduction of Element Soft IR, Luxilon expands upon its time-tested formula for comfort and touch. It's called Multi-Mono Technology, and it uses a co-extrusion process to place flexible fibers within a durable polymer matrix. Luxilon has designed this string to feel softer than the original Element, giving it an even friendlier response on touch shots and off-center impact. Although a tad livelier than the majority of Luxilon strings, Element Soft IR still delivers phenomenal control on full swings. As such, it will enable you to maximize stroke speed when going for extra pace and spin. Ultimately, given its forgiving construction, Luxilon Element IR Soft is not only a great starter poly, but it's also a solid option for the poly veteran who wants a more comfortable hitting experience.

  • Gauge: 17/1.27mm
  • Length: 40ft/12.2m
  • Composition: Co-extruded co-poly (3 fibers within a polymer matrix)
  • Color: Hot Red

tennis stringsI bought a new Extreme MP which is YELLOW. I ordered these strings. To my surprise they are RED. Don't like the color but really do like the way they play. Just wish they would have put black, gray, or neutral colored strings on it! Plays great which is the important part.

Great but some drawback in durabilityThis is my string of choice paired with a Blade 100L at 48 pounds. More forgiving even compared to other soft polys while still providing good pace and spin. The only downside I personally feel is durability. It feels a bit too lively when freshly strung and settles down to a slightly dampened but plush feel after a few sessions. This is where it has great feel and control. Then one day it suddenly decides to die. Since this string is on the more expensive side of the spectrum, restringing costs add up a bit. But definitely worth a try especially if you are using a lighter racquet.

Love the stringI bought a Yonex racquet from TW, strung by TW as a gift for my wife who left for tennis camp the next day. Honestly it was a guess which string to decide on ... my wife loves the combo string and racquet. Four stars because I was not a fan of the red color but if my wife were writing this review, she would give it a 5-star rating

Nice strings with good controlGot these and happy with the results. Good amount of bounce and control. I went with 50lbs and these have so far proven to be comfortable on the arm and elbow.

Great stringI usually play with Luxilon Alu Rough but had elbow issues recently so wanted something that would cause less stress to the elbow. Tried a leading multifilament but that was just dead. I put Element IR Soft on one of my 18x20 Wilson Blades at the same (low) 47x44 tension as Alu Rough on the other Blade I have. By comparison Element IR feels noticeably softer with more power, great control and spin potential, and a very generous sweet spot. No string movement. Only lost 1-2 lbs of tension after about 20 hours of playing. Definitely more forgiving to the elbow. I am not sure how Alu Rough would play if strung even looser, it could become comparable to Element IR. The latter, however, is a great string overall.

Tennis ElbowNice choice if you have problems with tennis elbow but want to play with a poly string. Strings don't snap back as well as stiffer poly strings but I have had chronic tennis elbow so they are a good option for me.

good for those with tennis elbowSofter than most other poly and co-poly strings I have tried. Good control. Strings do not snap back as well as firmer polys. Overall a good choice if you have tennis elbow problems.
