Overview

Introducing Tourna Silver 7 Tour! This firm co-polyester monofilament will give you the needed control to execute your most powerful strokes without fear of over hitting. It is constructed with seven sharp edges for maximum grip on the ball, resulting in massive spin potential. Recommended to intermediate and advanced players who want a durable co-poly with surgical targeting. In our TWU String Lab, this string has one of the best scores in the polyester category for tension maintenance.

Try this 17 gauge version for slightly more spin and feel but less durability than 16g version.

  • Gauge: 17/1.25mm

TOURNA BIG HITTER TOUR 7I AM A FIRST TIME USER OF THIS STRING. I SELECTED IT BASED ON REVIEWS I'VE READ. LONG TIME USER OF 16G. HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PLAY WITH IT LONG ENOUGH TO GIVE IT A PROPER REVIEW. WILL WEIGH IN AT A LATER TIME.

Better than ALU Power....and AFFORDABLE!I was a fan of ALU Power, but not the price or the longevity at $20/pack and a life, in my 18x20 Pure Strike, of maybe 8-10 hours, I definitely wanted to find a better string for less money, if possible. I tried three different offerings from Toroline, 2 from Zero, two from Grapplesnake. All great strings with no complaints, but then I found Tourna. First I tried Big Hitter silver in both 16 and 17 gauge and found them to be better, for me, than all of the others. I sacrificed a bit in spin and was stringing more often than I wanted. When I got to the Silver 7 tour 17 gauge, it was like a gift from the universe. This string does it all and lasts half of forever! I get more than enough spin, and it lasts much, MUCH, longer than any other string I have tried. Precision! All day long Precision! It also cost about a third what I was paying for Alu Power. One note though... it is stiff. Very VERY controlled but you definitely want to put in the effort to make good contact.

Crisp and firm stringGreat control string and good power when swinging hard. Crisp and firm. Comfort is there for some time, but wouldn't recommend for people with arm problems. Tried at 51 lbs and it felt very comfortable for the first hour, but then it got stiffer and wasn't as comfortable as before. Tension maintenance was average. It feels thinner and sharpy. Would keep it as a back up.

Tourna big hitter silver 7This string is great! I took it out for the first time and it’s amazing, I had good pocketing and the string bite’s the ball very well. It’s been 2 weeks and the strings have settled in exactly how I wanted at 53 lbs in my Yonex Ezone 98. I compared the Tourna with Volkl Cyclone and I’m switching to the Tourna simply because the tension maintenance is better.

ExcellentFormer D2 player here. I come from Lux Big Banger Original then Alu power and most recently Hyper G. I am a fan of 18x20, using the latest Speed Pro now. Tried Tourna for the excellent tension maintenance TW lab tells about. This string is excellent. Great bite, power actually on the higher side so had to go up to 55/53 lbs, volleys tend to be “bouncy” for lack of better word. Just something to get used to. I got a reel after first 6 hours of play. Try it.

Never loses tension or breaksTo start, I literally left this string on for 5 months before it broke with zero noticeable tension loss. And the only reason it broke was because my friend was feeding me 50 balls at a time and I made some bad contact points. I strung at 53 lbs and it felt fairly soft but with some crispness and definitely enough control, I tend to slap balls a lot in doubles. The spin is not the best but still pretty good, so even if you prioritized anything like that it's good enough to recommend since it lasts so long and is only $11. We will see how long it lasts now after re-stringing.

Comments: Finally tried these in my Prince Textreme Tour 100P. Very comfortable, with more than enough power and spin. Might become my new go-to string, unless the Black Magic can outperform these. Way better than the blue version, which felt totally dead. Can't go wrong at this price!

Comments: Been using Hyper-G in a hybrid with Tourna Black Zone. The combo was my favorite out of any other string that I have tried in the main of the hybrid; Yellow Jacket, Tourna Black 7, Volkl Torque, Wilson Revolve Spin, Weiss Cannon Blue Rock'n Power, and Ultra Cable. But when I tried the Silver 7 Tour it became my new favorite. I don't think that it has as much spin or power as the Hyper-G, but I like a lower powered poly and the silver makes up for the lower spin in its tension maintenance, and cost as well. If you are looking for a low cost, low power, poly string with plenty of spin this is one you need to try.

Comments: I have tried Yellow Jacket, X-Perience, Hyper-G, Tour Bite, along with a host of other polys of the month for the past two years. My problem was always playability after two outings, my strings always lost their playability in some way. My stringer told me to try the Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour and I'm glad I listened. I have played ten hours on this string and it plays the same as it did from the first hit. It really compliments my flexible Yonex VCORE Pro 97 HD. It's comfortable while still playing firm enough to shape my shots. This string checks every box control, power, spin, comfortability, all for under 10 dollars a set. My string search is over and I am committing to this string. I string it at 49 and 47 pounds. I am 4.5 all-court player with a one handed backhand and heavy topspin forehand.

Comments: I've been using RPM Blast for 10 years. It's nice for two hours and breaks after 4-6 hours. I started using Luxilon 4G, but it gave me arm problems. My friend suggested this string and I got more than 8 hours out of the 1.30 mm and it played great until it broke. The price is great as well.

Comments: I have about 4 hours on a full bed of this strung at 55 pounds, about 5 pounds higher than my usual tension, on my Ultra 18x20. I was hesitant to try such a sharp string on my dense stringbed but it plays very nice. It so far feels incredibly crisp, lots of spin potential, and comfortable for a poly. I am getting decent power as I feel more comfortable taking big swings at the ball with the higher tension. Overall I would compare it to a more comfortable version of Tour Bite, and yes it is that sharp. I cannot speak to tension loss just yet, but playability has been spot on from about the 20th swing until now 4 hours later. Could be my go to shaped poly if it continues to impress.
