Overview

Solinco Tour Bite Soft lives up to its name. This very impressive control string is definitely on the softer side of the polyester spectrum. Given the overall playability, we think this gentler version of Tour Bite will work well not only for advanced players but also big swinging intermediates. Like the original version, Tour Bite Soft is shaped for massive grip on the ball. The result is a huge spin potential. Our playtesters reported a more generous power level as compared to the original Tour Bite. Ultimately, though, a full swing is required to get the most out of this string. Big hitters looking to get exceptional spin and precision without a lot of shock are encouraged to take this one out for a spin.

Try this ultra thin gauge for maximum spin and feel but slightly less durability than the other gauges.

Favorite StringBeen using this string for almost 4 years now. Always try to find something better but always come back to this. The spin I generate cannot be replicated with any other strings I have tried. I have tried other Solinco strings as well as RPM Blast and Black Widow. This just performs the best for me. I use a Babolat Pure Drive weighted to just under 13 oz and string my sticks at 35 pounds. For me this combo works. Now for longevity it lasts me about 3 hrs of hitting. Since I string all my sticks that isn't an issue. Overall I always want to try new strings but always come back to old faithful.

Comments: After using this string for a couple of weeks, I have found it to be a good string even at lower tensions. I have my Wilson Burn 100LS strung at 46.5 lbs. There has been a 10% drop in the center of the racquets. The 45 lbs was a little too loose and the ball started flying somewhat. Since the temperature is steadily increasing here, 46.5 seems to be good. I would definitely recommend this string.

Comments: I decided to try this string based on my club pro's recommendation. I must say that I like it a lot. I have my Wilson Burn 100LS strung at 45 lbs with it. It is definitely softer and easier on the elbow than most co-polys. After taking a tension measurement in the center strings, there was no drop at all. I will continue to track this on a weekly basis to see if this continues. The price is very right with this string as well. Hopefully, this string will work well with my game. Being an older player, I need all the advantages I can get.

Comments: The 18g version is amazing. Playing with the original and the soft side by side, it's a clear difference, the soft is definitely soft! Compared to other ploys I've tested (all of them) this string is the softest but still maintains that stiffer feeling that you can't get away from with ploys. In my 97RF, I pair these with Wilson Sensation 17 in the crosses. I've had elbow problems in the past and continue to battle through them but with this string I don't have any pain during or after. I'm also a chronic string breaker (16g syn gut lasts about a set and a half) and have found these to be very durable. I usually break the crosses after 7-8 sets of singles which is a great thing considering that all of these tend to lose tension after a couple of weeks anyway. Great playability, great price -- great string!
