Overview

Please note: Kirschbaum has changed the name to Pro Line Rough. Same string, different name

With Pro Line Rough Kirschbaum adds some texture to one of their most popular co-polys. Like the standard Pro Line II, this string's low-powered response allows big hitters to take huge cuts at the ball when trying to add pace and spin. Although this is a firm string, it plays with more comfort than Kirschbaum's classic first-generation polys (like Super Smash). Big swinging intermediate and advanced players looking for control and durability should give this string a serious look.

Pre-stretched for added tension maintenance.

Great stringsBottom of 5.0 rated player. I’ve played the strings for ten years and I love them. Lots of pop and tons of durability.

Pro Line II RoughFor the price, this poly string is the best for the mains. I play with the RF 97 V14. The black strings in the mains with Syn Gut Tourna Armor 16 G in the crosses at 55 pounds and mains with the Pro Line II Rough 16 G at 53 pounds is a solid blend for me. Only con I see is the cross strings will catch a lot of ball fuzz on the strings and looks older and used faster. The strings last amount 3 weeks if I play 3-4 times a week. I play at 4.5 level (7 UTR) and this string really helps me get that bite I am looking for in my long rallies and the kick serve out wide feels most grippy. The feel is good without the dampener also. I recommend this blend.

Great string, great TW customer servicePurchased the "II" version of this string and kept receiving the original version. TW went above and beyond to get me a replacement string only to find out Kirschbaum dropped the "II" from the packaging. TW were super responsive to my concerns and were fantastic in communicating and confirming I received the correct string. Now as for the string itself, it is a SOLID alternative to the more expensive RPM Rough that I have been using. Holds tension much better and is half the price. Overall I am very happy with this string and will continue to use it and buy it from TW!

Great string for attacking playersI enjoy the roughness of this string. It is best string for the mains tensioned around 55 lbs. on my RF97 V 13. It plays similar to Lux Alu BB Rough. I enjoy the feel and spin. The string responds well in a hybrid set up. I also like stringing it. Not too hard on the fingers. I recommend to pre stretch it for avoid the nasty entangling. Level, 4.5 NTRP.

Pro line 2, 17 gauge roughI have been using Kirschbaum string for well over a decade and could not be happier. This string holds its tension very well and is a softer poly that still gives you plenty of bite on the ball. I am a 61 year old teaching pro who still plays at a 5.0 level and generally play most of my tennis with much younger players who rip the ball with a lot of power. I string at 52 in the mains of my blade 98 and 54 in the crosses with Kirschbaum touch multi fiber, which in my view is the best synthetic gut on the market. In the past years, I have converted at least two dozen players over to Kirschbaum.

Comments: This is a great string. I use the 16g in a 18x20 string pattern racquet at 50 pounds. I'm an open level player but as of the last few months have been able hang with and occasionally beat 4.0 players. I'm 6' 5" and in good shape just not a naturally quick guy so big serves and hard flat strokes are my game style. With that said, this string is great because it seems to offer good spin and amazing predictability. Though it's described as low powered in the reviews, it has plenty of pop on serves but is fairly low powered when redirecting heavy pace (in a good way). The tension maintenance seems to be really good for me as well I leave a set in for a couple months and really can't tell much of a difference in tension. The only reason I change it is because it eventually gets notched and doesn't seem to put as much spin on the ball. I'm on my third set after 6 months and plan to keep using this!

Comments: It's a pretty decent string that allows full cuts at the ball with good amounts of control and good amounts of spin. It really beats the balls up pretty badly though. The string leaves black marks on the tennis balls and the balls lose compression pretty quickly with these strings, so I guess it definitely is rough.
