Great basic stringThis synthetic gut is perfect for any beginner or developing player. It provides a good balance of comfort and moderate power. The durability of the 16 gauge is great. It’s also a great cross string for players looking to hybrid with a soft poly.

Head Synthetic Gut 16I am very impressed with the combination of this string in the Tecnifibre racquet I purchased. Has forgiveness and action in every baseline shot.

Soft and gentle to the armI play with a Pure Strike 98 and love it. For the past few years, I've been using poly strings, but recently developed tennis elbow. To alleviate it, I decided to try a few synthetic gut strings on my Pure Strike, including Head. The feel is fantastic! I enjoy the muted sound and softness, which is much easier on my elbow. I played for almost two hours with no pain. I’m still unsure about the durability, though. Given its the price it’s a no-brainer.

Head Synthetic GutI've used this Head Synthetic gut as part of a hybrid set up with both straight co-poly and rough/multi-sided co-polys. Holds up real well and I like the variety of colors. I'm a big fan of Head racquets and like the quality and value of Head strings.

Movement in strings after three usesAfter receiving my new racquet with these strings, strung by Tennis Warehouse, they seem to be loose and have to be re-positioned or straightened back out quite often.

A go-to affordable string that plays wellSynthetic gut is not considered high-tech anymore but it still plays very, very well and I continue to use it. It's much more comfortable than polyester and co-poly strings and much more affordable too. And, it lasts and does not become bagged while in your racquet like many polys do. Lately, I've been limiting synthetic gut use to racquets with denser string patterns where it's less prone to sliding during use. I use it in my Head Gravity MP and Team (16x20 patterns - 16 gauge used) and in older Radicals with 18x19 patterns (17 gauge used). All in all, an excellent string at an excellent price!

Head Synthetic Gut String 16/1.30Strings were great in the Head Speed Pro. My son's swings now sound like they have a little pop on it and he seems to have more control.

Topspin with better placementI am able to hit topspin and slice with better placement in the court. I like hitting with a variety of topspin and slice so this string works well for me.

Feels good, but frays quicklyStrung a full bed at low 60s and a co-poly/synth hybrid bed at high 50s. Very comfortable to hit with and was able to generate good spin. I play in a singles 3.5-4.0 rec league and after about 2 hours, the full bed started to fray. I didn't experience too much tension loss, but I ended up cutting out the strings after 3 matches in about 1.5 weeks as I didn't want it snapping mid-match. The hybrid stick is holding up better. I've played 3 matches of 2+ hours each and it's in much better shape. I string myself, and for under $4 a package, it's a great set of strings for budget minded competitors.
