Overview

Diadem Solstice Power is a comfortably firm co-poly with a six-pointed star shape. The result is a string that combines a low-friction surface with maximum ball bite. In other words, this string was built for spin - massive spin. Intermediate and advanced players looking for a comfortable co-poly with pinpoint control have come to the right place.

The package may list this as a 16g but the actual gauge is 16L

  • Gauge: 16L/1.25mm

Previous Feedback

Comments: Unique feel and response! Awesome spin with good pop. Strung up my Elevate Racquet with these strings and it is an awesome combination. Durability is good considering it is a shaped poly. Tension maintenance is adequate and feel is great. No problems with my arms or shoulders either, it is a very comfortable poly. Great job by Diadem!

Comments: I heard about Diadem from a friend and then gave this string a go. Strung a full bed of the Solstice Power 1.25 gauge up in my Graphene XT Prestige Pro at 55 lbs and off we went. On the first few warm up serves I ever took with this setup, my kick serves instantly bounced a couple inches higher than normal and my slice serves spun off to the side fence a little more aggressively than normal. Definitely could feel the level of spin generation this string brought to the court! This continued on my groundstrokes as well, again mostly on topspin and slice, accompanied by a nice cushiony (compared to other polys) feel at contact. In fact, the string felt so plush at times that I felt slightly disconnected from the ball, mainly on flat strokes or crafty shots to smaller targets. However, once I switched back to "banging" or "heavy ball mode" I could start feeling the ball again. Volleys, especially put away volleys, again felt nice and plush but anything requiring touch or going close to the line felt slightly disconnected or muted. Lastly, the tension maintenance felt pretty consistent for at least 1-2 weeks of hitting before experiencing tension or spin loss. A couple students I coach also tried this string in poly-main hybrids with a multi in their crosses. We found out that not only again the Solstice provided good spin and plush feel, but the aggressive shape of the Solstice ripped through the multi fairly quickly. Overall, I loved this string when trying to hit heavier shots but didn't trust it completely any time I had to change the pace of a point or hit closer to the lines. I feel a young junior experimenting with polys or any player who loves to hit heavy balls from the baseline all day should definitely give the Solstice Power a try! I'm a 4.0-4.5 level player in his 20s with an eastern grip forehand and a one-handed backhand.

Comments: I used this in the Pure Aero. Diadem Solstice Power had a massive amount of spin and great ball pocketing. The power and control were phenomenal as well. Unfortunately, during my second hitting session with it, the tension just dropped more than I am used to and I just began getting a very inconsistent response of the string bed. I couldn't rely on the string anymore so I had to cut them out. Strung them at 54 lbs.

Comments: I love this string. Comfortable, great spin, pop, good playability. I play with it until it breaks. Highly recommend it.

Comments: Compared to my usual string, Alu Power, Solstice Power provides more spin, less power, less feel and is less durable and has about the same control. All in all, I much prefer Alu Power. Solstice Power reminds me a lot of Cyclone -- which in my opinion, isn't a good thing.
