Overview
This newer version of the Babolat XCel Premium string offers everything that the older string had as well as more durability. With a new construction phase that uses polymid binds instead of polyurethane, Babolat was able to increase the durability and tension maintenance of the string. Plays very soft and natural gut-like, this is one of the better multi-filament strings available.

Trying XCel for the first timeI bought this to pair with RPM Blast in a hybrid string bed. I’m really enjoying how much it softened up the string bed, and I’m getting tons of spin.

A great string for anyone with elbow problemsBefore I found this string, I had switched to one that was shaped, hoping to gain more spin on shots. But those strings were very harsh, and not long after starting to use them I began to have pain in the elbow of my hitting arm. I had had tennis elbow years before, and was in no mood to go through that again. These strings are often called "playable", and for good reason: you can play long and hard with them in your racquet without the impact of a harsher string going into your elbow. With a bit of experimentation I found the right tension for my particular racquet, and though they might not bite into the ball as much as a shaped string, they offer power and control without the pain.

Great productThe racket and string were a birthday present for my son. While I have no firsthand knowledge of it, I can assure you that my son loves it. He has given me glowing reviews and told me it was perfect. I’m in Michigan and he’s in Colorado so I ordered it and it was delivered right to his front door. Easy all the way around.

Give them timeThe strings needed some time to settle in. Once I hit with them for about two hours they started to feel like the description your people gave them. I have only gotten three hours on them so far so I am still getting used to them but I do like the way they are playing.
Lots of controlI love this string. It gives me much more control over the ball than other strings I’ve tried. A friend induced me to try his string because the Xcel can wear out faster. Never again. His reasoning — apparently — is that while his string may not be as good, it lasts longer.
As expectedI had some serious elbow pain so bad that I had to stop playing tennis for a while. This string enabled me to play again and this is the second time I strung with it. The problem with this string is just one. Spin is not there. This string doesn't have the crisp spinning feeling and the ball really is hard to drive. Except for that pretty well made string with good arm friendliness. I will first try to get my form back and then go for a poly.
Overall Great StringTennis warehouse has great customer service. Great shipping service. Very knowledgeable phone staff.

Comments: Awesome string! It's too pricey though, and it's not durable at all.
