Fresh Tennis Essentials for 2025

Now is a great time to refresh your tennis wardrobe with new basics. While you can always count on the always classic black, white and navy, this year brands like Wilson are redefining what basic means. Below we share some of our favorite must-haves for a 2025 tennis wardrobe.

It’s the start of a new year and there’s no better way to celebrate than to go through your closet and let go of what no longer serves you. This makes way for new pieces you’ll be excited to wear when the weather warms up and the courts start seeing more action. We all know that core items in basic colors (black, white, navy) are the backbone of a versatile court wardrobe. This year many of the key brands Tennis Warehouse carries have made exciting updates to their core lines.

Nike

Nike has elevated its core offerings with clean styling and tonal NikeCourt logos on its women's Nike Advantage line. The Advantage line also integrates stretchy ribbed fabrications and showing more modern silhouettes with hip-skimming lengths on the tanks and tops. These lines are available in the essential colors, but each season there are fun pops of color, like the light blue skirt we show from spring 2025 above.

For its Victory line, Nike keeps the signature Nike Swoosh and adds some crisp polos to the women’s collection. If you like these updated silhouettes, many of them come in additional colors as well, like the pale yellow outfit we are showing below. Nike Dri-FIT moisture wicking technology keeps this updated core performance apparel ready to take the court alongside your tried-and-true favorites.

adidas has refreshed its core lines with new tonal logos and Climacool technology that cools as it wicks away moisture. Some items integrate Airchill technology as well. This is done with jacquard knit patterns that add extra ventilation to the fabric. A good example of this is in the material of the Core Freelift Top. adidas continues to mix up the lengths and cuts of their tops and skirts to keep them refreshed and energetic.

Fila

Fila is continuing to breathe fresh air into its essential court collections with innovative styling and updated technology. By building on its classic heritage and giving their designs a modern spin, they keep us wanting to add extra core pieces to our wardrobe. The Fila Casa collection wasn’t promoted specifically as a core line, but the classic styles and colors definitely fit the bill. Fila is also revamping its Essentials offerings with breathable fabrics and innovative silhouettes.

Wilson

Wilson brings classic style and performance to the court and adds Club Green, Safari (a khaki color) and Infrared to its stable of core colors. Their youthful silhouettes and breathable knit fabrics ensure maximum comfort during heated play. These Wilson core pieces are also versatile enough to integrate into your on- and off-court wardrobes.

Sofibella

Although not specifically introduced as part of its core collection, Sofibella’s Aurora Sky and Monochrome capsules make ample use of white, navy and black, so they check that box by default. These pieces will pair easily with the statement items in your closet to create different looks on the court.

We are excited about new core items from Lacoste with its white pleated skirt, dress and a sleeveless polo tank with an intricate jacquard-knit design for added style and ventilation. Asics is introducing refreshed core court dresses and tanks with new rounded V-necklines. Original Penguin has a new core pleat skirt and is keeping its classic polos at a longer length while cropped and mid-length tops are having their moment in the spotlight. They also have a new quarter zip with an extended collar that folds over for a fresh new look. Lucky in Love has a new high waist skirt with a mesh insert at the flouncy hem and a sporty neon-yellow drawstring for an added pop of color. They also have a new skirt with a classic silhouette and a polo tank with a cropped length and V-neck placket. Under Armour has introduced a modern tank and flouncy skirt in a peachy-soft fabric and New Balance is offering shorter core collared tanks and updated core skirts.
