Tennis Fashion Trends for 2025
From tenniscore to tennis court, we take a look at what's trending in the fashion world and how that might look for tennis players in 2025.

We may not have a tennis crystal ball, but every year, fashion trends affect the looks we see on the court. This past year we have also seen tennis attire play an outsized role in the fashion world. At Tennis Warehouse, we expect this trend to continue with pleated skirts and court-inspired sweaters, vests and polos to play a part in stylish looks we will see on the runways and in the streets. We will also share our predictions for how the latest trends on the runways might inspire tennis outfits in 2025.
Feminine Polos
This past fall, in a nod to their tennis background, there were more polos being shown on the runway. They were often seen fully buttoned up and with slim silhouettes. They also featured different rib-knits, cropped lengths and buttonless or elongated plackets. We think this trend will continue into the New Year with fresh, modern updates to polo styles on and off the court.
Aquatic Influences

Shades of blue, aqua and turquoise were seen on the runways this past fall. They were often combined with shimmery accents to reflect the play of light on crystal clear water. Classic sailor stripes and nautical styles were also shown. We have seen some of these influences affect court looks this winter and expect them to continue into the spring and summer months.
The 'No Pants' / 'Hot Pants' Look
One of the most striking trends in fashion seen this past fall has been the ‘No Pants’ or ‘Hot Pants’ look where models were shown in oversized tops, sweaters and jackets that almost or completely covered very short shorts. On the court we have seen this play out so far in skirts that are cut with shaped and short hemlines that let the shortie peek out — either just on the sides or from under the complete hem. We have also seen some of the pros on the practice courts in shorties paired with tanks or tops. Will 2025 take this trend further with more players wearing shorties on court without a skirt or dress covering them?
Plaids, Tweed, Boucle, and Houndstooth

The runways were also full of classic, preppy plaids and textures this past season. We started to see argyle plaid, houndstooth and boucle texture incorporated into tennis attire this past year on both the Men’s and Women’s sides. We think this may continue into the new year with some added sporty twists.
Shades of Pink and Sheer Tulle Skirts
Last summer, bright Barbie shades of pink were everywhere. This fall, the pinks were toned down and softer. In some cases, they were combined into voluminous tulle skirts creating a sugar-spun confectionary feel. Although too much volume is not always our friend on the court, this past year we started to see sheer and feminine tulle/mesh pleated skirts at some of our matches. We think this may continue this year with softer shades of not just pinks, but other colors as well.
Oversized Jackets and Hoodies
Bold and boxy jackets and hoodies were paired with stylish skirts, shorts and pants this fall. Windbreakers and track jackets were also shown on the runways — influenced by tennis as well as other sports. We expect tracksuits to keep becoming more and more popular in a nod to a resurgence of retro street style. Be prepared to see more people arriving to the courts in oversized jackets, pullovers and matching warmup sets this spring.
